Benjamin Stiller was born on November 30, 1965, in New York City. His parents are also from the industry and are legendary comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. His father was basically from Poland and he shifted to New York.
Since, his childhood days, he was exposed to the lifestyle of Hollywood and it was sure that he would follow in the footsteps of his parents. By the time he was 8 years old, he was already shooting a movie on his Super 8 camera. Later, he produced and directed the movie Reality Bites which was based on taking revenge and went on become a great hit also.
In addition to movies, Ben was very popular on the television as well with his very own show named The Ben Stiller Show which has a 13 episode run and was based around creating fun around music videos, film stars and movies. The show got him an Emmy.
The breakthrough point in his career came when he made his debut with much celebrated director Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun in 1987. Being multi talented in nature, soon he was again directing Back to Brooklyn for MTV. In the year 1996 , he directed the Cable Guy with Jim Carey, the movie though got critical acclaim.
With the movie, There’s Something About Mary (1998), he was now positioned as the mainstream actor in America. His some of other remarkable movies include Keeping the Faith, Meet the Parents and not to forget, series of One Night at Museum which is loved and adorned by the parents and kids alike and has made him highly popular actor among the masses.
