Benicio Monserrate Rafael Del Toro Sanchez popularly known as Benicio Del Toro is an American-Spanish actor and film producer. He was born on 19th February, 1967 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to parents to Gustavo Adolfo Del Toro Bermudez and Fausta Genoveva Sanchez Rivera. He has an elder brother named Gustavo. He has done his schooling from Academia del Perpetuo Socorro, a Roman Catholic school in Miramar, Puerto Rico.
Benicio shot to fame with his roles as Fred Fenster in ‘The Usual Suspects’, Dr. Gonzo in ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’, Franky Four Fingers in ‘Snatch’, Jackie Boy in ‘Sin City’ and Che Guevara in ‘Che’. He was also awarded with the Best Actor Award both at the Cannes Film Festival in France, and at the Goya Awards in Spain for his role in movie, ‘Che’. He also played the role of the Collector in the Marvel Studios film, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.
Benicio was awarded with several awards such as, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a BAFTA Award. He is the third person of Puerto Rican descent to win an Academy Award.
