Adam Richard Wiles, popular as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish DJ, record producer, singer, songwriter and remixer. He was born on 17th January, 1984 in Dumfries, Scotland to parents David Wiles and Pamela. He has an elder sister, Sophie, and an elder brother, Edward. He has done his schooling from Dumfries High School.
Calvin released his first album, ‘I Created Disco’ in 2007 . Following that he released his second studio album, ‘Ready for the Weekend’. The album was a big hit. The album ranked number one on the UK Albums Chart. Its lead single, “I’m Not Alone”, became his first number one on the UK Singles Chart.He shot to international prominence in 2012 with the release of his third studio album, 18 Months. The album ranked at number 19 on the Billboard 200 in the US. All eight of the album’s singles; “Bounce”, “Let’s Go”, “We’ll Be Coming Back”, “Sweet Nothing”, “Drinking from the Bottle”, “I Need Your Love”, “Thinking About You” and “Feel So Close”, along with “We Found Love” ranked among top 10 songs.
Calvin was also awarded with several awards.
He was nominated for seven Brit Award nominations, two for Best British Male, and four Grammy nominations. He also received the British Academy’s Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2013 and at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards was named Top Dance/Electronic Artist.
