Kathryn McKinnon Berthold professionally known as Kate McKinnon is an American Actress, Comedian, and impressionist by occupation. He is popularly known for her role in Saturday Night Live (American late night TV sketch comedy show), The Big Gay Sketch Show (Comedy show) and Ghostbuster (comedy film). Kate McKinnon was born on 6th January 1984 in New York, U.S. Her father Michael was an architect while her mother Laura Campbell is a Parent Educator.
The actress completed her school education from North Shore High School in 2002. She studied theater from Columbia University and passed out in 2006. Kate co-founded a comedy group Tea Party. She joined the original cast of The Big Gay Sketch Show in 2007. Apart from doing comedy roles and live performance she also worked as a voice-over actress and has given voice in several films including The Venture Bros, Ugly Americans, and Robotomy. Kate won a Logo NewNowNext Award for best rising comic in 2009.
In 2010, she was nominated for an ECNY Emerging Comic Award. For her performance in Saturday Night Live, she won several awards including American Comedy Award for Comedy Supporting Actress – TV, Best Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series etc.
