Little Mix is an English girl group which was formed in 2011. It consist of four members, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. This group was emerged from the controversial eighth season of reality series X-Factor. They became the first group to win the competition. They were initially known as Rhythmix, but they were forced to change their name after it was revealed that there was already a Brighton-based children’s charity of the same name. So, they changed the name and became Little Mix.
After wining the reality series X-Factor, they signed with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Music and released their first single “Cannonball”. The following year, they also released their debut album DNA on 19 November 2012. It was a huge success and it ruled the music charts in the top 5 in eight countries, including number two in the UK and number four on the US Billboard 200. They were among the highest earning British girl group, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls in 1996. Soon, after th release of this album they shot to fame. As of December 2014, Little Mix have sold over 5 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide.
